Class 1

Welcome to the Class 1!  We are Nursery and Reception! Our teacher is Mr. Napper and we are supported by Mrs. Wood. In our children’s words, we:
• are kind
• are nice
• are lovely
• use our new climbing frame and slide at break times
• have delicious snacks
• get to play
• have the best teacher
• dance when the interactive whiteboard is on (to Sister Sledge!)
• have room for gymnastics
• have great friends
• play with the Small World figures
• play with great resources
• see our friends
• splash about in water
• putting on our wellies and exploring our woodland area

We fit in all these things, and more, every week!  All of our activities are based upon both our termly Christian Values, our current whole school learning themes and linking stories. These help us to make great progress against all aspects of our curriculum, with each child being regularly assessed to ensure they are on track to meet their targets.

Our curriculum is broken down into seventeen aspects, against which each child’s progress is monitored closely across the year. Full details of these aspects can be accessed for free here:

Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Every child in Class 1 has their learning documented using Tapestry, an interactive online learning journal. All accounts are password protected and can only be accessed by specified family members. We also record our activities through class learning record books.

Please feel free to come and see us if you would like to find out more!

Handwashing advice

The most important thing individuals can do to protect themselves is to wash their hands more often, for at least 20 seconds, with soap and water. Public Health England recommends that in addition to handwashing before eating, and after coughing and sneezing, everyone should also wash hands after using toilets and whenever you return home.
